Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was far from impressed with his team’s output after the 60th minute mark in the club’s game against Brighton and Hove Albion.
City lost 2-1 to Brighton with James Milner’s converted penalty kick and Brajan Gruda’s goal giving the Seagulls the win after Man City striker Erling Haaland scored in the 34th minute.
The loss is Man City’s second in a row after the club lost 2-0 to Tottenham Hotspurs in the previous round at the Etihad Stadium.
Speaking in a post-game interview quoted by the BBC, Guardiola credited his team for doing many things right but quickly pointed out that they were poor after the hour mark in the loss.
“I like many, many things we are doing. Like against Tottenham, we started well. I like many things the team has done here today but we were unable to win. When we conceded the goal we stopped playing.”

“We conceded two goals. We were excellent for one hour. After the goal we forgot to play. We were thinking of the consequences” Guardiola said.
