Kumasi Asante Kotoko bounced back from their disappointing GHALCA Top Four campaign to lift the 2025 Champion of Champions title, edging Bibiani GoldStars 1-0 at the DUNS Park on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
The Porcupine Warriors, who had failed to secure a single point in the pre-season tournament, looked revitalised and purposeful from the onset.
Despite early pressure from both sides, Kotoko settled quickly, dictating possession and tempo in the first half.

GoldStars, buoyed by a strong Ghana Premier League season, nearly broke the deadlock with a dangerous free-kick midway through the half, but Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare Camara produced a crucial save to keep the game level.
Both teams went into the break goalless after squandering their limited chances.
The decisive moment came in the 68th minute when midfielder Hamzata reacted quickest to a loose ball from a set-piece and calmly slotted home from close range.
GoldStars mounted late pressure in search of an equaliser, but Kotoko’s defence held firm under the guidance of their resilient backline.
The victory handed Kotoko their fourth Champion of Champions crown, a timely morale boost for head coach Karim Zito and his squad as they gear up for the CAF Confederation Cup.
For GoldStars, set to represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League, the defeat serves as a reminder of the step-up required ahead of continental competition.
Kotoko’s triumph not only adds another trophy to their storied history but also sends a strong statement of intent to their rivals ahead of the new Ghana Premier League season.
