2025 World Athletics Championships: Ghana bags $16,000 in prize money after finishing fourth in Relays

Team Ghana bagged $16,000 after finishing fourth in the final of the 2025 World Athletics Championships Men’s 4X100 Relays.

Ghana clocked a time of 37.93 seconds but missed out on a place on the podium to the Dutch who clocked 37.81 seconds to finish third.

The United States of America and Canada won the gold and silver medal respectively with the USA winning first place with a world leading time of 37.29 seconds.

Benjamin Azamati, Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, Ibrahim Fuseini, Barnabas Aggerh, Mustapha Bokpin and Joseph Paul Amoah represented Ghana in the relays and will split the $16,000 cash prize.

For winning the competition, Team USA, made up of Noah Lyles, Courtney Lindsey, Kenny Bednarek and Christian Coleman, will split the $80,000 cash prize.

Canada’s quartet, headlined by veteran sprinter Andre De Grasse, will split the cash prize of $40,000 while the Netherlands earn $20,000 for winning the bronze medal.

Despite missing out on a medal, Ghana set a new national record with a time of 37.79 seconds to win its heat in the semifinals en route to the final.
