Ghana forward Jordan Ayew has scored his sixth goal in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Africa to move up the rankings in the goal scorers’ chart.

Ayew’s latest strike came via a simple tap in Ghana’s 1-1 draw with Chad in N’Djamena with the Leicester City striker sweeping a cross from Mohammed Kudus into the net in the 17th minute.

Jordan Ayew, who is the captain of the Black Stars, has six goals in seven qualification games at the time of writing to rank second in the African qualifiers.

Only Denis Bouanga of Gabon, who has eight goals, has scored more goals than Jordan Ayew who is tied in second place on six goals with Mohamed Salah of Egypt.

Jordan Ayew’s goals have been key in Ghana’s quest to qualify to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the US, Canada and Mexico as the Black Stars lead Group I with 16 points from five wins, a draw and a loss in seven games.
