After scoring the winning goal in Ghana’s win over Mali in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Alexander Djiku’s move to Russian club Spartak Moscow has been officially confirmed.
Djiku bundled the ball into the net with an improvised finish in the 49th minute to give Ghana a 1-0 win over Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium in the FIFA qualifiers.
Mere hours after scoring the important goal that kept Ghana in pole position to qualify to next year’s World Cup, the 31 year old defender has joined Spartak Moscow.
The deal runs for two years and this marks the latest move in the career of the French-born Ghana international after playing for the likes of Strasbourg in France and Fenerbache in Turkey.
“We are glad to welcome our new signing and wish him success in the red and white jersey” a club statement read.
