Mali’s Football Federation is set to file a complaint to world football governing body FIFA about the performance of match officials who handled Mali’s game against Ghana.

Phatsoane Souru (Assistant Referee I) from Lesotho, Cledwin Baloyi (Assistant Referee II) from South Africa, and Naftal Mweshitsama Negongo from Namibia served as the fourth official for the aforementioned game.

Guezzaz Mohammed from Morocco served as the Referee Assessor, while Kachalla Babagana Kalli was the Match Commissioner for Ghana’s game against Mali.

In a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium, Ghana beat Mali 1-0 with the winning goal coming from defender Alexander Djiku in the 49th minute.

However, Djiku’s goal got Malian players incensed over what they deemed as the match referee Badi Luxolo ignoring a series of fouls in the lead up to Djiku’s goal including one on goalkeeper Diarra Djigui.
