Hon. Kobena Mensah Woyome, former Member of Parliament for South Tongu and ex-Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Youth, Sports and Culture, has been appointed as Chairperson of the newly established Government Relations and Stakeholders Subcommittee of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC).
The subcommittee, created under the leadership of GOC President Richard Kofi Akpokavie, will play a key role in advising and guiding government policies on sports. Its work aligns with the GOC’s development agenda and the broader framework of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
In a letter dated August 12, 2025, and signed by GOC Secretary General Mohammed Muniru Kassim, Hon. Woyome was congratulated on his appointment.
The letter also assured him of the Committee’s support as it works to advance sports development in Ghana for the benefit of athletes, coaches, and technical officials across the country.
