Ghana midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana is set to return to Italian Serie A side Bologna for assessment on an injury he picked up while on national team duties.
Sulemana was called up for the Black Stars 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali but won’t be involved in any of the games due to the injury situation.
The midfielder, who is on loan from Atalanta, didn’t compete in Ghana’s 1-1 draw with Chad and will leave the Black Stars camp tonight for Italy.
Sulemana featured 10 times for Atalanta and scored two goals prior to his season-long loan move to Bologna. He has played in the Serie A at Cagliari in his career.
He has since been replaced by Real Oviedo midfielder Kwasi Sibo in the Black Stars for the game against Mali on Monday, September 8; the 27 year old has featured in all three La Liga games for Oviedo.

Ghana leads Group I with 16 points from six games while Mali rank third in the group with 12 points.
