In a timely morale-boosting visit, the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, joined the Black Stars at their camp on Saturday afternoon ahead of Monday’s crucial World Cup qualifier against Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 8 in the matchday 8 fixture.

Addressing the players and technical team, the Minister acknowledged the nation’s disappointment with the draw against Chad but reaffirmed his confidence in the squad’s ability to bounce back.
He urged the team to draw on their talents, international experience, and the unwavering support of Ghanaians.
I am not here to criticise, but to encourage and listen. I know what you’re capable of.
There’s no better team than you. You have the talent, the passion, and the opportunity to turn this around,” Adams told the players.
In response, head coach Otto Addo assured the Minister that the team had reflected on their performance and remained fully focused on qualification.

He highlighted the advantage of playing on a natural grass pitch against Mali and expressed confidence in a strong reaction.
A senior player also echoed the squad’s determination:
“We know what went wrong, and we are determined to correct it. The win is coming.”
The Black Stars are top of Group I ahead of the crucial tie against Mali on Monday, despite the mundane performance they put up against Chad in the matchday 7 fixture in N’jamena.
