Despite being roped into Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, the Black Stars, late, midfielder Kwasi Sibo is excited to be with the team.
The 27 year old who plays for Spanish La Liga side Real Oviedo, was given a late call up to the Black Stars ahead of a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mali on Monday, September 8 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
An undisclosed injury to midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana and the absence of fellow midfielder Elisha Owusu due to an accumulation of yellow cards, forced the national team handlers to hand Sibo his debut invitation to the Black Stars.
Speaking to Black Stars media after completing his first training session, Sibo was captured in a video on social media sharing his excitement about the session with forward Inaki Williams.
“Today was my first [training] session and I really enjoyed it. Hope to see you guys [fans] on Monday…’m home” he said in the video.
