However, just a few months after leading Gold Stars to win the Ghana Premier League title for the first time, Frimpong Manso was sacked by the club in a shocking fashion and Akwasi Adu says it is an unfortunate development.

“I should say thank you to him [Stephen Frimpong Manso]. He’s done so well for us…he led us to win the Premier League. At the moment, based on our direction, it is unfortunate that he cannot stay with us anymore” Akwasi Adu said.

Gold Stars beat Bechem United 2-1 to open its campaign in the 2025-2026 Ghana league season.
