Chief Executive Officer of Bibiani Gold Stars Akwasi Adu says it is unfortunate that the club has ended its partnership with head coach Stephen Frimpong Manso.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports on the sidelines of a donation made by Peeva Beverages to the club ahead of Gold Stars’ trip to Algeria to compete in the second leg of the CAF Champions League tie against JS Kabylie of Algeria.

Gold Stars trail the contest 2-0 on aggregate ahead of the game on Sunday, September 28 in Algiers and CEO of Peeva Beverages, Frank Adjei Mensah, has called on the club to go and make Ghana proud. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

However, just a few months after leading Gold Stars to win the Ghana Premier League title for the first time, Frimpong Manso was sacked by the club in a shocking fashion and Akwasi Adu says it is an unfortunate development.

“I should say thank you to him [Stephen Frimpong Manso]. He’s done so well for us…he led us to win the Premier League. At the moment, based on our direction, it is unfortunate that he cannot stay with us anymore” Akwasi Adu said.
