Hohoe United Football Club head coach Abdul Rahim Bashiru has praised his team for bagging a goalless draw against Accra Hearts of Oak in the opening game of the 2025-2026 Ghana Premier League season.

The Ghana League debutants delivered a solid defensive performance to pick up its first point at the top level.

Speaking in a post-game interview after the encouraging result, Rahim Bashiru, who served as Hearts assistant coach and interim head coach in the 2023-2024 season, was happy the season opener ended without a loss.

“Tactically, we played very well and per what Hearts of Oak did during the preseason and the (GHALCA) Top 4 and the last game they played against Accra Great Olympics, we watched them so we equipped the team tactically and mentally.”

“That was exactly the plan (to be conservative) and my boys did so well. They played according to the plan and I’m very happy for them” Bashiru said.
