New Nottingham Forest manager Ange Postecoglou has indicated that he had an idea that he was going to be sacked from his role as Tottenham Hotspurs manager while addressing the press for the first time as the latest manager for Forest under Greek owner Evangelos Marinakis.
Australian Postecoglou replaced Nuno Espirito Santo in an expected move after the latter stated that his relationship with Marinakis wasn’t good while seemingly criticizing Forest Sporting Director Edu over the team’s inability to sign players early for them to be integrated into the team better. Despite leading Spurs to win the Europa League and end the team’s 17 year title drought in the process, Postecoglou was sacked and he stated that he expected to get sacked by the club.
“It wasn’t great. I knew it was coming. I knew it was coming a fair way before the Europa League final. We won it and we had the parade. It was a great three days. Whether I feel it was unjust, other people make those decisions.”

“That’s up to them, you’ll have to ask their reasoning for it. How it ended I don’t really think about a lot. It’s allowed me to move into this and maybe these things happen for a reason” Postecoglou said as quoted by the BBC.

Ange Postecoglou has had his first training session with Nottingham Forest ahead of the team’s league clash against Arsenal on Saturday, September 13 at 11:30 GMT.
