Greek side AEK Athens is desperately trying to offload former Manchester United striker Anthony Martial according to French media outlet FootMercato.
According to the same outlet, the French player has been offered to at least six Mexican clubs including PUMAS and Monterrey by AEK Athens so they get the former AS Monaco off their books.
Martial’s 2.5 million euros net salary annually is proving to be the biggest hurdle in Athens’ attempts to move Martial from the club.
29 year old Martial left Man United for Athens in the 2024-2025 season and has registered nine goals and two assists in 24 games in all competitions.
He even featured in Athens’ Europa Conference League qualifier against Israel’s Hapeol Beer Sheva this season; he played 32 minutes in the game.

Just like his time at Man United, Martial has struggled for consistency and availability due to injuries that has led to him falling out of favour at AEK Athens.

Regarded as one of the world’s best young players after excelling at Monaco, Martial has missed out on meeting those lofty expectations.
