Head coach of JS Kabylie Josef Zinnebauer says that the pitch at the Accra Sports Stadium is in a good state ahead of his team’s fixture against Bibiani Gold Stars.
Algerian side Kabylie take on reigning Ghana Premier League champions Gold Stars in the first of two legs at the Accra Stadium on Saturday, September 20 at 15:00 GMT.
This is Gold Stars’ debut run in the premier continental championship and Zinnebauer says even though the state of the pitch at the Accra Stadium pales in comparison to what Kabylie uses at the Hocine Ait Ahmed Stadium, there are no excuses.
“Even if it’s bad, we cannot change it but the condition [of the pitch] is good. It’s not [the same] compared to our stadium or our training ground but I think it is difficult in the whole Africa.”

“No excuses, we have all that we want. We have the same field, the same stadium as the opponent. We have to play the game” Zinnebauer said.

The return leg takes place on September 26 in Algeria.
