For the second league game in a row, Chelsea have ended up on the losing side and for the second league game in a row, Chelsea have had one of its players sent off and the team’s head coach Enzo Maresca is concerned and has called for his team to be better in this regard.
He said this after Chelsea lost 3-1 at Stamford Bridge to Brighton and Hove Albion with Trevoh Chalobah getting sent off in the 53rd minute.
Chelsea took the lead in the game in the 24th minute but Brighton scored all three goals including two from Danny Welbeck after Chalobah’s exit and Maresca reflected on the club’s latest red card induced loss saying,
“Against any team in the Premier League, you can’t continue to give away presents, because at this moment we are giving presents with red cards.

“You cannot continue to make mistakes because they are big, game-changing mistakes; the red card against Manchester United and the red card today.”

“I would like to tell you something different, but the reality of the two games is that with two red cards, everything changed” Maresca said to Chelsea media.
