Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted that his team struggled in the pressing phase of their contest against Arsenal.

The biggest game in the immediate past round of the English Premier League had Arsenal draw 1-1 with Man City at the Emirates Stadium.

City striker Erling Haaland scored in the ninth minute but after soaking so much pressure in the second half, Guardiola’s team conceded in the 93rd minute via a Gabriel Martinelli goal.

In a game that had City surprisingly out-possessed by Arsenal [67% to 33%] and defend deep in their half for long stretches, Guardiola cited his team’s inability to press Arsenal in their half contributed to the tough game.

“When you are not effective in the pressing, always it is difficult.”

“I think the result is fair. We made some transitions but I think Arsenal was better. It’s a better result than last season and better against United last week, so we will take that” Guardiola said to Man City media.
