AFC Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo scored his latest goal in what has been a blistering start to life in the 2025-2026 season to clinch a win for Bournemouth that the Ghanaian described as “ugly”.
Bournemouth beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-1 with Semenyo scoring the decisive goal from the penalty spot to secure the win for the Cherries.
The goal is the Black Stars player’s third in four league games while improving his assists count to two after aiding Alex Scott score Bournemouth’s first against Brighton.
Speaking after the win to the club’s media, Semenyo stated that the game was far from the team’s best but added that he was happy it ended in a win.
“It wasn’t us at our best and like I said, it was pretty ugly!”

“The manager said it might go this way – it did and we found a way to win. It’s a really good side to show to our game” he said.

Bournemouth have nine points from three wins in four games and rank fourth in the league standings at the time of writing. They take on Newcastle next on Sunday, September 21 at 13:00 GMT.
