England manager Thomas Tuchel is reveling in his team’s brilliant qualification campaign to the 2026 FIFA World Cup and has described sealing qualification to next year’s tournament as a “special moment”.
He said this after The Three Lions hammered Latvia 5-0 in Riga with Harry Kane scoring twice and Anthony Gordon of Newcastle and Eberechi Eze of Arsenal getting on the scoresheet.
England are the latest country to qualify to the 2026 World Cup following in the footsteps of the likes of Ghana, South Africa, Senegal and Ivory Coast.
In his post-game presser, former Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain head coach, Tuchel talked about his team’s willingness to adapt to the testing humid conditions in the upcoming World Cup.
“The players buy into it [the style of play]. We play a running game and this reflects the English football culture.”

“We will adapt it when we need to adapt it. It is 18 points and six clean sheets, so it is a special moment. If it looks easy, it is never easy in football.”

“The way we did it, it is nice to see because they play with a lot of effort. They don’t just rely on their talent, and we work hard for their goals” he said to the BBC.
