Youngster Kojo Peprah Oppong, Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, and defender Alidu Seidu have all been named in Ghana’s squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against the Central African Republic and Comoros.

The 21-year-old Oppong has been a standout performer for OGC Nice in the French Ligue 1 this season.

A product of Attram De Visser Academy, he moved to Europe two years ago and has quickly risen as one of Ghana’s exciting attacking prospects.

Issahaku returns to the national setup after recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury that sidelined him since November.

The winger has been in scintillating form for Leicester City in the English Championship.

Seidu also makes his long-awaited return after overcoming a knee injury that ruled him out of action for nearly a year.

Meanwhile, Medeama SC midfielder Prince Owusu has earned his first-ever Black Stars call-up following his impressive start to the Ghana Premier League season.

The Black Stars will face the Central African Republic at the Stade d’Honneur de Meknes on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 16:00 GMT, before hosting Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 19:00 GMT.

Ghana currently tops Group I with 19 points and is chasing a fifth FIFA World Cup appearance, with just two matches left in the qualifiers.
