Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul-Karim Zito says his team’s goalless draw against Kpando Heart of Lions was an improvement on its previous performances.
He said this in a post-game interview after Kotoko picked up the point in front of its fans at the Baba Yara Stadium for the first time in a while as the facility got shut down for maintenance.
Two games into the 2025-2026 season, Kotoko have scored just once via a 1-0 win over Berekum Chelsea in the opening round.
Coming off a 1-0 win over Kwara United in the CAF Confederation Cup, the Porcupine Warriors created a high number of scoring opportunities and a decent number of chances but couldn’t breach Kpando’s line prompting Karim Zito to state,
“I’m okay with a point, it’s better than losing but there is an improvement.”

“We are not yet there but there is an improvement…so it wasn’t bad” while adding that the team will work to score more goals in subsequent games.”

Kotoko take on defending league champions Bibiani Gold Stars on Wednesday, October 8 at 19:00 GMT in an outstanding league fixture.
