Athletic Bilbao captain Inaki Williams will miss Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers this month due to a leg injury. Inaki was named as a member of the 24 man squad for Ghana.

The Black Stars are scheduled to take on Central African Republic (C.A.R) on Wednesday at 16:00 GMT and Comoros on Sunday, October 12 at 19:00 GMT.

According to Spanish media outlet El Chiringuito TV, Inaki Williams suffered a muscle-injury overload in the tensor of the fascia lata of his left leg.

“The captain will not join up with the Ghana national team and will begin his recovery at the Lezama training ground. Further tests are pending” a section of the statement Athletic Bilbao released regarding Inaki Williams’ health status read.
