Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has stated that he is happy that Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Alidu Seidu have made strong returns from injuries.

Both players suffered varying degrees of anterior cruciate ligament injuries last year that ruled them out of action for several months.

However, both players have returned to action in the 2025-2026 season and featured extensively for Leicester City and Stade Rennes respectively.

Their strong performances have led to a return to the Black Stars and ahead of Ghana’s penultimate 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Central African Republic (C.A.R.) on Wednesday, October 8 at 16:00 GMT, Otto Addo is happy to have them back in the fold.

“I’m very happy for them. You can’t take it for granted to come back strong as they have from what I saw from their games. They really deserve it to be back…they are doing well in their league so I’m very happy for them to be back” Otto Addo said.

A win against C.A.R. or Comoros on Sunday, October 12 at 19:00 GMT would seal Ghana’s qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
