Director of Communications for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Henry Asante Twum has stated that there is no update yet on Derrick Arthur Kohn’s switch from Germany to Ghana.

The German-born defender who is of Ghanaian descent is eligible to play for Ghana and has made a serious attempt to commit to play international football for Ghana despite representing Germany at the juvenile level.

The Union Berlin defender was called to Ghana’s team for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali but didn’t feature in either game as he hadn’t been cleared by football’s world governing body FIFA.

Speaking at a pre-game presser ahead of Ghana’s final World Cup qualifier against Comoros on Sunday, October 11 at 19:00 GMT, Henry Asante Twum stated there isn’t any update on the 26 year old’s switch to Ghana officially yet at the time of writing.

“On Derrick [Kohn], there is no update. We’re hoping that the requisite information from FIFA will come through and once that happens, we will give the technical team the opportunity to plan with him going forward” Henry Asante Twum said.
