Kpando Hearts of Lions Football Club head coach Bashir Hayford is happy his team bounced back from suffering its first loss of the 2025-2026 season to register a big win over Basake Holy Stars.

Heart of Lions beat Basake Holy Stars 3-0 at the Kpando Stadium in the first game of Match Week 7 in the Ghana Premier League.

Speaking after the big win, Hayford made it known that he loved that his club proved they were the better side of the two teams in a post-game interview.

“We were determined…and prove to them that we are the better side and that’s exactly what we did. Because of the rains, it slowed them-the boys- down and I was telling them not to rely on short passes instead let’s do the long passes and I think it helped. We are on course” Bashir Hayford said.
