FC Barcelona midfielder Pedri says that the team is hoping to repeat the brilliant run it had in last season’s El Clasico in the 2025-2026 campaign.

Last season, Barcelona beat Real Madrid to win all four El Clasico encounters and the first clash between the bitter rivals takes place on Sunday, October 26 at Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu at 15:15 GMT.

Real Madrid head into this weekend’s big game leading the Spanish La Liga standings with 24 points, two points ahead of second ranked Barcelona.

Speaking ahead of the game to Barcelona media, Pedri bemoaned the list of injuries Barcelona is dealing with and added that the Blaugrana side is aiming to continue its brilliant run in the El Clasico.

“I think last season we were incredible. We have to get back to that level.”

“We should remember that last year we managed to win all the Clásicos, and hopefully we can do the same this year.”

“Of course I’d love to have everyone available, the coach and the team would too. Those of us who are fit will give everything and fight for the three points” Pedri stated.

Pedri, who turns 23 in November, has two goals and two assists in 12 games in all competitions this season. The likes of Robert Lewandowski, Gavi and Dani Olmo have been ruled out of the game to injury while Raphinha’s status isn’t certain.
