Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has delivered a stern promise in his response to Madrid winger Vinícius Jr’s angry reaction after getting substituted in the El Clasico.
Vinícius Jr was hurled off in the 72nd minute and replaced by Rodrygo Goes but he was seen talking to himself in clear frustration and made his way down the tunnel in a storming fashion. He eventually went back to the bench but was clearly upset by the move.
In his post-game presser after Real’s 2-1 win over FC Barcelona in the first El Clasico of the season, Xabi Alonso promised he would have a conversation with Vinícius Jr.
“Vini’s character?? There are different personalities in any dressing room. Right now we will enjoy the win, then we will have a conversation for sure” Alonso said according to Sports Illustrated.

Vinícius Jr was heavily involved in an altercation after the game with Lamine Yamal which was one of a handful of similar confrontations involving players from both sides.

Real’s win keeps them in first place but build up a five point advantage over second ranked Barcelona in the La Liga standings.
