Ghana Premier League side Nations FC have announced the club’s split with Head Coach Kassim Ocansey Mingle albeit in shocking fashion.

The club also announced that assistant head coach Johnson Smith is leaving the team. Nations FC say the split with the veteran coaches was mutual.

Kassim Mingle’s sack came after Nations’ 3-0 league win over Eleven Wonders FC in a home tie at Abrankese. Forward Emmanuel Annor scored all three goals for Nations.

Kassim Mingle becomes the latest head coach to lose his job in the Ghana Premier League so far this season after defending league champions Bibiani Gold Stars sacked Stephen Frimpong Manso in the opening month of the 2025-2026 season.

“Nations FC have mutually parted ways with both head coach Kassim Ocansey Mingle and assistant coach Johnson Smith. We thank them for their service to the club. The club will not make any further comment” a statement from the club said.

Kassim Mingle

Under Mingle, Nations narrowly missed out on winning the league title in the 2024-2025 season and rank 12th in the league seven games into the season. Nations have two wins, two draws and three losses.
