Former Spanish Football Federation President Luis Rubiales had his book event disrupted by an attack when he was pelted with eggs by an individual.

Rubiales made the headlines in 2023 when he kissed Spanish player Jenni Hermoso while celebrating Spain’s FIFA Women’s World Cup triumph. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

The incident led to a major fallout that forced Rubiales to resign from his position; he subsequently got fined 10,000 Euros and was handed a three year ban by FIFA.

In the wake of the controversy, Rubiales was present an event to talk about his book “Kill Rubiales” that he described was “for those who wanted to know the reality”.

However, the event was disrupted when an individual pelted Rubiales with three eggs but was immediately arrested.

“I didn’t know what he had in his hands. I thought he might have a gun … I wasn’t thinking about myself” Rubiales said to Radio Marca after the incident.
