FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has urged winger Lamine Yamal to move on from his poor showing in the club’s loss to Chelsea particularly in his battle against left full back Marc Cucurella.
Flick called on the Spanish superstar teenager to rather focus on the team’s upcoming Spanish La Liga game against Alaves on Saturday, November 29 at 15:15 GMT.
Yamal played 80 minutes in Barcelona’s 3-0 loss to Chelsea in London in the UEFA Champions League as Spanish full back Cucurella frustrated his national team mate throughout the contest.
Following the win, Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez said Cucurella “pocketed” Yamal but Hansi Flick has directed Yamal to forget about his encounter against Cucurella.
“For me, Cucurella is one of the best left-backs in the world. It’s not easy to play him, he’s very smart, very intelligent in the defence.”

“The next step now for Lamine is to show again it’s not about this match, forget it. Alavés is now the important thing and he has to show his best performance, his best level” Flick said according to ESPN.

Yamal has six goals and eight assists in 13 games in all competitions this season.
