Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, has stated that there have been no specific reason provided to him about the construction of the Nkawkaw Stadium which has stalled.

He confessed this when he appeared before a Public Accounts Committee sitting in the presence of Minister of Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams to brief the committee on development in sports.

On the subject of the Nkawkaw Stadium that was in a deplorable state before Member of Parliament for Abetifi Constituency, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, commenced efforts to upgrade the facility, the NSA Director-General said he doesn’t have information about the reason behind the stalled project.

“Sometime in September 2020, the then Minister for Youth and Sports, cut sod for the reconstruction of the Nkawkaw Sports Stadium…and was set to cost 27 million Ghana Cedis. It was to be funded by the Middle Belt Development Authority.”
