There was no intensity, we didn’t win duels- Barcelona Head Coach after drawing with Club Brugge

FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick believes his team’s inability to keep clean sheets has nothing to do with the attacking philosophy of the club.

He said this in a presser after Barcelona conceded three times in a 3-3 draw with Club Brugge in Belgium in the UEFA Champions League.

The Spanish side fought back on three occasions to secure the draw with Fermin Lopez providing two assists in the game.

In nine games this season, Barcelona haven’t kept a clean sheet and many have blamed Flick’s risky high line style as the main cause of the problem but the German coach believes otherwise.

“When there is no intensity, you have no chance in the Champions League. We want to play to our DNA; we don’t want a low block and transitions to win 1-0, but [I accept] 3-3 is not the best result for us.”

“We came back after every goal, though, this is positive, but we have to speak about this match.”

“In midfield, we have not the pressure on the ball and we don’t win the duels, so it’s not easy for our last line to defend these fast players. We have to work on that, analyse everything” Flick said according to ESPN.
