Ghana’s Black Princesses recorded their second win of the ongoing WAFU B U20 Girls’ Cup after defeating host nation Benin 2-0 on Monday, November 10.

The victory, played at the Stade de l’Amitié, marked Ghana’s second triumph over Benin in the competition, completing a double over the hosts.

Sarah Nyarko and Latifa Musah were both on target for the Princesses, who dominated the encounter from start to finish.

After resting on Sunday following back-to-back games against Benin and Nigeria, head coach Charles Sampson made a few changes to his lineup.

Juliana Gyekewaa earned her first start of the tournament at right back, while goalkeeper Aishetu Awinimi was also handed a place in the starting eleven.

Ghana started brightly and broke the deadlock in the 14th minute when in-form striker Sarah Nyarko scored from close range—her third goal in as many matches.

The Princesses went into halftime with a 1-0 advantage.

Sampson’s charges maintained control in the second half, creating several opportunities before Latifa Musah sealed the win in added time with a fine finish.

Musah, who was named Player of the Match in Ghana’s first encounter with Benin, once again impressed as the Black Princesses claimed a comfortable 2-0 victory.

Our player of the match! A goal scorer and a controller in midfield, Sarah Nyarko!
