England National Men’s Football Team manager Thomas Tuchel has described Ghana as a “proud” and “strong” football nation while commenting on the draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

England lost 2-1 to Croatia at the 2018 World Cup in the semifinals and drew 1-1 with Ghana in an eye catching friendly game in 2011.
England commence their World Cup campaign against Croatia on June 17 and follow it up with a game against Ghana on June 23 and close out its group phase chapter against Panama on June 27.

“Difficult opener, difficult group with Croatia and Ghana; two regulars in World Cups and two proud and strong nations. I don’t know much about Panama but we will find out about them.”

“It always seems difficult like our group now, but we are confident and we will be well prepared” Thomas Tuchel said to the BBC after the draw.

England are aiming to win the World Cup after doing so in 1966.
