Ghana defender Maxwell Woledzi has picked widely popular Ghanaian musician Black Sherif as the top artist this year. He named the “Soja Soja” hit maker as 2025’s Top Artist when asked by Nashville Sporting Club’s page.
Black Sherif has had a meteoric rise since releasing First Sermon in 2021 and he has won multiple awards since including the Artist of the Year, Best Hip Hop Song of the Year and Most Popular Song of the Year Awards in 2023.
Earlier this year, Sherif was nominated in several international award categories and won the Collaboration of the Year Award at the 2025 Ghana Music Awards for his work with Kidi on the hit song “Lomo Lomo”.
Nashville signed Woledzi from Norwegian side Fredrikstad FK on a three year deal as the MLS season comes to an end. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
The MLS Cup Final between Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami and Thomas Muller’s Vancouver Whitecaps takes place on Saturday, December 6.


Woledzi won the Norwegian league title with Fredrikstad and won the Player of the Year Award prior to his move to Nashville.
