The Africa Basketball Festival (ABF) officially launched its 2025 edition on Wednesday, 19th November 2025, at the University of Ghana Basketball Court, Legon, with a major highlight coming from the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana.

During his address, he praised the organizers for their work over the past five years and announced that the Ghana Tourism Authority will lead all five participating countries on an exciting “ACCRA TOUR” when they arrive in Ghana.

This year marks the 5th anniversary of the Africa Basketball Festival, and organizers have adopted a special “Five Theme” to celebrate the milestone.

The 2025 edition will feature five African countries, five fashion brands and five musical performances, and will run for five days, from December 10th to 14th, making it the most extensive ABF experience ever.

In his remarks, Abeiku Santana commended RITE Sports Services, the organizers of ABF, for creating a festival that not only celebrates sport, culture, and entertainment but also drives significant visibility for Ghana. He emphasized that the Ghana Tourism Authority is committed to supporting ABF with its full resources.

To further amplify this impact, he revealed that the Ghana Tourism Authority will organize a “Special Tour”” for all international teams participating in ABF 2025.

The launch event generated excitement and anticipation for what promises to be the biggest edition yet. With the 5th anniversary celebration, the Five Theme experience, and the Accra tour plan, ABF 2025 is set to deliver an unforgettable blend of culture, sport, and national pride from December 10th to 14th at the University of Ghana basketball court.

The 2025 Africa Basketball Festival is sponsored by Glico General Insurance, GTS Drilling, Indomie Noodles, GTV Sports Plus, Points Africa, Warrior King Watches, Lamborghini Energy Drink, The Luckiest, Minimie Atsomo, Lush Hair, Verna Water, Ghana Basketball Association, Nkonkonsa.com, Awuah Sports, Sporty FM, Nescafe and Ghana Tourism Authority.
