Nottingham Forest produced a dominant display to secure a 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at the City Ground, piling further misery on the visitors with a ruthless second-half performance.

English-Ghanaian Callum Hudson-Odoi was the standout performer, scoring twice and providing an assist as Forest outplayed Spurs from start to finish.

Forest took the lead in the 27th minute after a costly error from Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario. The Italian’s risky pass left Archie Gray under pressure, allowing Ibrahim Sangaré to steal possession and square for Hudson-Odoi, who tapped into an empty net.

The hosts came close to extending their advantage before the break, with Nikola Milenković heading wide and Sangaré rattling the post, while Tottenham offered little going forward.

Forest doubled their lead early in the second half in controversial fashion. Hudson-Odoi cut inside from the left and delivered what appeared to be a cross, but Vicario misjudged the flight of the ball as it looped over him and into the far corner to make it 2-0.

Tottenham struggled to respond despite multiple substitutions, managing just one shot on target deep into the contest. Forest, by contrast, continued to threaten and were rewarded in the 77th minute.

Hudson-Odoi turned provider this time, laying the ball off to Sangaré, who unleashed a powerful first-time strike from the edge of the box that flew past Vicario and in off the post to seal the win.

The City Ground erupted as Forest comfortably saw out the closing stages, with Hudson-Odoi receiving a standing ovation when substituted late on after a memorable performance.

The result lifts Forest further up the table and underlines their strong home form, while Tottenham leave Nottingham facing renewed questions after a flat and error-strewn outing.
