Kylian Mbappe hit a vaunted trifecta of wins in Real Madrid’s final game of 2025 as he scored a record equaling goal on his 27th birthday in a win.

The French forward, who turned 27 on December 20, scored in Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Sevilla in the Spanish La Liga with the goal being his 59th in the calendar year of 2025; English midfielder Jude Bellingham scored the game’s opening goal.

By scoring in the win over the tough Andalusia club, Mbappe tied Ronaldo’s Real Madrid record of most goals scored in a calendar year and speaking after the win to Madrid’s media, Mbappe was excited to match his idol’s record by stating,

“It’s a special day because it’s my birthday. We won the match because it was very important; the goal was to end the year with a positive result.”
