Kylian Mbappe hit a vaunted trifecta of wins in Real Madrid’s final game of 2025 as he scored a record equaling goal on his 27th birthday in a win.
The French forward, who turned 27 on December 20, scored in Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Sevilla in the Spanish La Liga with the goal being his 59th in the calendar year of 2025; English midfielder Jude Bellingham scored the game’s opening goal.
By scoring in the win over the tough Andalusia club, Mbappe tied Ronaldo’s Real Madrid record of most goals scored in a calendar year and speaking after the win to Madrid’s media, Mbappe was excited to match his idol’s record by stating,
“It’s a special day because it’s my birthday. We won the match because it was very important; the goal was to end the year with a positive result.”

“The record is incredible. It’s my first year of doing something like Cristiano, my idol, the best player in the history of Real Madrid and a reference point in world football. It’s an honour for me.”

Mbappe recently finished second in the 2025 FIFA Best Awards Men’s Category behind winner Ousmane Dembele also of France after scoring 31 La Liga goals last season which was his first season in Real Madrid colours.
