Arsenal FC manager Mikel Arteta is happy with the decision by Martin Odegaard to hand over penalty taking duty to Viktor Gyokeres in the team’s win over Everton.
The Gunners returned to the summit of the English Premier League standings after beating Everton 1-0 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Gyokeres converted a first half penalty in emphatic style to score the win after Odegaard, Arsenal captain, handed the ball over to the Swede and Arteta praised the players’ involved for taking the initiative by stating to the club’s media that,
“Great decision! Yes, I agree with that and as well the confidence of the player (Gyokeres) because obviously he practises every day and he’s unbelievable at it and he put the ball in the back of the net, so I love when players take ownership and decide by themselves what is the best decision. That’s something really positive.”

The goal against Everton was Gyokeres’ fifth in 14 league games and his first since November 1. He missed a handful of games after due to a muscle injury.
