Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim says it is impossible to replace injured Man United midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

The Portuguese player injured his leg in Man United’s 2-1 loss to Aston Villa this past weekend and has been ruled out for a couple of games with Amorim failing to announce a specific timeline for Bruno’s return.

Ahead of the Red Devils’ Boxing Day game against Newcastle United, Amorim said Fernandes is a player who is impossible to replace in a pre-game press conference.

“I think it’s impossible to replace Bruno, but I say that in this morning to the team. I think we need to take the good thing, if there is a good thing on that a lot of people need to step up.”

“It’s not just the creation, but every set piece, he’s the guy that is organising sometimes the team. We lost Bruno on set pieces. We lost Bryan [Mbeumo] and Amad [Diallo] on set pieces. So, this is massive for the team” Amorim said.

Newcastle United rank 11th while Man United rank seventh in the league ahead of the game.
