In the wake of the infamous interview, Mo Salah was dropped from the Liverpool team that travelled to Italy to take on Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League.
Liverpool beat Inter Milan 1-0 courtesy a converted Dominik Szoboszlai penalty in the 88th minute and Gerrard believes Salah was wrong for his comments and called on the Egyptian to “reverse away” from some them.
“He’s obviously really upset he’s not playing, which I respect.”

“A couple of lines about throwing people under the bus – wrong. [He] needs to reverse a little bit away from that, he needs to deal with that with the manager.”

“I know in time when this all calms, Mo will go, ‘I shouldn’t have said that. Maybe I shouldn’t have said that. I was a bit emotional. I was a bit hasty” Gerrard said to TNT Sports.
