Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle says he is disappointed that Nigeria captain Wilfred Ndidi won’t feature in the Super Eagles’ game against Morocco.

Three time AFCON winners Nigeria take on 2025 AFCON host Morocco on Wednesday, January 14 in the semifinals of the competition.

A win for Nigeria qualifies the Super Eagles to the AFCON final game for the second edition in a row but they will have to do so without Ndidi who will serve a game suspension over accumulated yellow cards in the knockout stages and Eric Chelle says the team will miss its captain.

“I’m disappointed for him because he brings so much for the team but we are a group, there are some very good players who are waiting for a chance to show something that they can bring us.”

“I’m very confident about that [dealing with Ndidi’s absence]…and everything will be fine” Chelle said in a pre-game presser.
