Algeria captain Riyad Mahrez says the outcome of his team’s big game against Nigeria on Saturday, January 10 at 19:00 GMT will be determined by the details.

He said this in a presser ahead of the quarterfinal clash at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco on the back of Algeria recording a hard fought 1-0 win over Democratic Republic of Congo after extra time in the Round of 16 stage.

Mahrez has scored three goals in the tournament and is hoping the Desert Foxes’ campaign in the tournament continues beyond Saturday.

“It will be a very good game to play and I think as good as well to watch so we are ready. We’re going to give everything for our country. We are in the big stages and the big stages is about details so I think it [the game against Nigeria] will be about details tomorrow” Mahrez said at a press conference.
