He’s an incredible player- Dani Olmo after Fermin Lopez extends Barca contract

FC Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo has described teammate Fermin Lopez as an incredible player with the compliment coming after the latter extended his contract with the club.

Lopez has extended his deal with the club till 2031 which pretty much ends speculations regarding a possible move to Chelsea.

The contract arrangement comes in the lead up to Barcelona’s UEFA Champions League game against Danish side FC Copenhagen on Wednesday, January 28.

Barcelona rank ninth in the league standings and need to finish among the top eight spots to progress to the Round of 16.

Speaking on Fermin Lopez’s contract renewal, Dani Olmo said the Lopez renewal is good news for everyone stating in a pre-game presser that,

“I am delighted for him because it’s what he wants, to be here with us. He is an incredible player and a wonderful teammate. Renewing his deal is good news for everyone: the club, the dressing room, the fans.”

“We have a great relationship on the pitch. I know we play the same position, but it’s never been a problem, and now we are getting more chances to play together as well. We have shown we are compatible and I am happy to keep getting minutes alongside him.”
