A few days after the big incident, Brazilian winger Vinicius Jr delivered a sterling performance in Real’s 6-1 demolition of French side AS Monaco in a group stage game in the UEFA Champions League.
Vinicius Jr smashed the ball into the roof of the net to fetch Real Madrid’s fifth goal after assisting on goals from Kylian Mbappe and Facundo Mastantuono.
For his efforts, the polarizing Vinicius Jr. won the Man of the Match Award and talked about his recent struggles to the club’s media.

“The last few days have been very tough for all my teammates and especially for me, because of the boos and everything that’s been said about me.”

“I’m always in the spotlight, and I don’t want to be there for things off the pitch, I want to be there for what I do on it and for everything I’ve done for this club. If we’re at our best, we can win big things this season.”
