Liverpool midfielder Florian Wirtz says the club can’t take anything from its league game against Burnley after picking up a frustrating result.
He said this to Liverpool’s media after drawing 1-1 with Burnley at Anfield; Wirtz scored his third league goal by slamming the ball into the roof of the net in the first half.
Marcus Edwards equalized for Burnley later on in the second half as both sides squandered good opportunities to score more. Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai missed a penalty kick.
The result is Liverpool’s fourth league draw in a row adding to the frustration inside Anfield and Wirtz believes the latest draw feels like a loss.
“Very frustrating. I think, as you said, we had a lot of chances – enough chances to decide the game early.”

“We missed that today. So, very disappointing. I think I’m feeling good on the pitch. It [scoring goal] gives me more confidence and makes [it] more fun to play.”

“It feels like a defeat. When we had so many shots and so many on target, I think we had to score more goals” Wirtz said.
