Point guard Trae Young has officially been traded from the Atlanta Hawks to the Washington Wizards in the NBA ending his eight year tenure with the Hawks.
Young was traded to the Wizards for veteran point guard CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert after averaging 25.2 points and 9.8 assists while leading the Hawks to an Eastern Conference Finals appearance.
The four time NBA All Star, Young, is set to be sidelined for a while before making his Washington debut as he is dealing with a right quad contusion and right knee MCL sprain but is upbeat about turning around the fortunes of the lowly ranked Wizards.
“I know what it takes. It’s not going to be easy but I know this is a place that I’m excited about and I was excited about whenever I heard it could be a possibility.”

“I just feel like I’m being able to come into an opportunity to be myself. I’m around people that obviously have known me for a long time, known the type of person I am, the type of winner I want to be” Trae Young said in his first official interview as a Washington Wizards player.

The Wizards rank 14th in the 15 team Eastern Conference with 10 wins and 27 losses.
