Liverpool FC head coach Arne Slot believes his team can be special but a major improvement in both boxes is needed for that to happen.
He said this at a time the Dutch trainer is another intense pressure following Liverpool’s indifferent form in the 2025-2026 season.
Liverpool had a 13 game unbeaten run ended by a 3-2 loss to AFC Bournemouth with Amine Adli scoring the winner in the 95th minute.
In the midst of the unbeaten run, the Reds posted frustrating draws against the likes of Leeds United, Fulham and Burnley to drop to sixth place in the league standings.
Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League final group stage game against Qarabag on Wednesday, January 28, Arne Slot called for his team to improve.

“It is going to be really difficult to quiet outside noise with the position we are in in the league. It’s impossible to shut down the noise at a club like this if you are not competing for the league.”

“In between the boxes we are a very, very good team. If we can improve in both boxes we can do very special things season” Slot said at a pre-game presser.

Liverpool rank fourth in the Champions League standings and have all but qualified automatically to the Round of 16 stage.
