Arsenal produced a dominant second-half performance to thrash Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 in a London derby that will delight Gunners, making this win their second consecutive north London derby win in 91 years.

Mikel Arteta’s side showed attacking fluency and defensive resilience as goals from Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyökeres, both scoring braces, helped Arsenal secure a convincing victory and extend their strong run of form.

The result will be especially satisfying for Arsenal supporters, as it underlined their ability to close out big matches after years of criticism over their mental strength in key moments.

The match started at a high tempo, with both sides creating chances but struggling to convert in the opening stages.

Arsenal eventually took the lead in the 31st minute when Eberechi Eze fired low into the bottom corner to give the visitors a deserved advantage.

Tottenham responded quickly. Two minutes later, Randal Kolo Muani restored parity, finishing from close range to send Spurs fans at the stadium into celebration.

Arsenal continued to threaten through pace on the wings, with Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard causing problems for the Tottenham defence, but the first half ended 1-1 after several missed opportunities from both sides.

Arsenal came out stronger after the break and quickly regained the lead.

Just after the restart, Viktor Gyökeres curled home a superb effort from outside the box to put Arsenal 2-1 ahead.

The visitors then took full control of the game. Eze grabbed his second goal on the hour mark, calmly slotting home from inside the box after good build-up play involving Arsenal’s midfield.

Tottenham tried to respond with counterattacks, with goalkeeper David Raya making crucial saves to deny Richarlison and others from close range.

Arsenal wrapped up the game in the closing stages when Gyökeres completed his brace with a powerful finish in the 93rd minute following an assist from captain Martin Ødegaard.
