Black Stars forward Brandon Thomas-Asante had missed three games in a row while serving suspension for violent conduct prior to making his return to action in the EFL Championship.

The Ghana international marked his return in Coventry City’s 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion away from home as Coventry registered a three point lead atop the standings.

Thomas-Asante’s return culminated in Coventry’s first away win in the league since November against his immediate past former team.

Coming on as a substitute in the 78th minute, the 27 year old won both ground duels he contested and won the sole tackle he made in the game.

From an attacking standpoint, Thomas-Asante made three carries in all with two of them being progressive in the contest.

After struggling in his debut campaign last season after joining Coventry from West Brom, Thomas-Asante’s performance has improved markedly.

At the time of writing, he has 10 goals and four assists in 21 league games. Coventry take on Sheffield United in another tough test away from home on Wednesday, February 25.
